BORANA LODGE PDF Print

Location: Borana Lodge is situated on a 35,000-acre, wildlife rich, private, working cattle ranch, 16 miles from the equator, adjacent to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. It is set on the edge of the Samangua Valley with panoramic views of Mount Kenya, the Borana plains and the Ngare Ndare forest. Over 300 species of birds and a wide diversity of wildlife inhabit this area.

Description: Established twelve years ago, ‘Borana’ has since become a byword for luxury, exclusivity and freedom; freedom to explore this spectacular part of Africa in unrivalled style and comfort.  Built from local building materials and dead wood from the ranch, the lodge is totally in keeping with its surroundings.

Accommodation/Facilities: Borana has eight guest rooms decorated in unaffected but luxurious up-country style. Four cottages have king-size double beds and four have queen-size singles. One room has a children’s bedroom attached to it. All rooms are spacious and have an open fireplace, en suite bathroom and a private verandah. A central eating and sitting area is furnished sumptuously for maximum comfort. A game ‘blind’ on the edge of the dam in the valley allows guests to watch elephant swimming. The horizon pool has superb views overlooking the valley and hills.

Hosted By: Borana is family owned and run, and hosted by Rawana Pye and Anthony Kaschula.
