Introduction: Wild Frontiers offers adventure walking safaris in and around the scenic Mathews and Ndoto mountain ranges of Northern Kenya, assisted by camels.

Location: The fiercely beautiful unspoilt country of northern Kenya is home to Samburu and Rendille nomadic people. Proud and friendly, these people lead traditional lives and cherish the customs of their ancestors. The wildlife is exciting, whilst often shy, and it’s a bird watchers paradise. From semi-arid country, the Mathews and Ndotos rise to dramatic heights of nearly 9,000 feet – giving rise to clear streams that run into the Milgis and Seiya luggas.

Description: Walking safaris through rugged and relatively unexplored country, with camels or porters to assist with luggage and camping supplies. Each safari is tailored to suit guest’s interests, number of days available and the season. Travel between campsites varies from 8 and 20 kms per day – guests are not required to be super fit, one does need to be a little resistant.

Accommodation and Facilities: The camp is set up in natural locations, and guests have the choice of sleeping in netted tents or outside under the stars. Hot showers, and excellent food add to unsurpassed personal attention offered by the entire crew.

Hosted by: Helen Douglas Dufresne, and her team of loyal Samburu are committed to ensuring guests have both maximum comfort and adventure. Helen, has spent many years in this remote area of northern Kenya, and is well known and respected by the local people. She is well versed in folklore, botany, ornithology and astronomy.
