Location: Looking out over the Northern Frontier District towards Samburu, Shaba and the sacred Lolokwe Mountain, Tassia sprawls gently over a rocky bluff, which protrudes from the Mukogodo escarpment. In the valley below, the Loimugi trees, a favourite food for the elephant, grow in abundance.
Description: This community eco-lodge is owned by Lekerruki Community Conservation Group Ranch and leased /managed by Northern Frontier Conservation Ltd. While traditional land use is maintained within the group ranch, the dependence on livestock has been reduced with the introduction of income from tourism. Built entirely from low impact material, the 'organic' structure appears as a natural extension of the ground it is built on.
Accommodation/Facilities: Tassia has six rooms (five double and one twin) with en-suite bathrooms. Extra beds are available for children. A dining/sitting room overlooks a stunning pool built into rocks surrounded by fig trees. Interiors have been carefully and tastefully decorated, and although simple - Tassia offers every comfort.
