OL MALO LAIKIPIA

Location: Situated on the northern edge of the Laikipia plateau nestled into a rugged escarpment looking out across the time-honoured lands of Kenya’s Northern Frontier District. An ancient land inhabited by wildlife and peoples of long ago, undisturbed and living by the rhythm of nature, there, as part of this untamed and beautiful landscape is Ol Malo – Place of the Greater Kudu.

Description: A stunning extra-ordinary bush home created and built with natural rock, ancient olive wood and thatch.

Accommodation/Facilities: Spread along the cliff edge, four cottages accommodate a maximum of eight people. Each cottage is unique in style and layout, offering maximum privacy and comfort, with kings size beds, luxurious en-suite bathrooms and private verandahs. Ol Malo has a separate sitting room with fireplace, and a dinning room with wide open windows. The swimming pool spills over the cliff edge and is an ideal place to unwind!

Activities:

1. Game drives and bush/nature walks in the company of local rangers and trackers

2. Night game drives to see nocturnal birds and animals
3. Camel rides across the plains
4. Horse riding – for both experienced and novice riders
5. Cultural visits to the local Samburu village and Samburu children’s school – where beadwork, painting, dancing and even spear throwing will keep you enchanted.
6. Camping under the stars or overnight in Ol Malo’s ‘look out hide’ at the base of the cliff edge.
7. Mountain biking on the hilly terrain

Optional Extras: Scenic flights, game drive in Samburu and Champagne.

Closed Season: April, May and November

Access: By charter flight direct to Ol Malo airstrip, or by schedule flight from Wilson Airport (Nairobi) to Nanyuki and connecting charter to Ol Malo.
